Great Divide Yeti Imperial Stout

Great Divide Yeti Imperial Stout

Used to drink this regularly before I stocked up on stout. It used to be one of the few year round imperials. But the price is high. Great mouthfeel. Creamy and coating. Nice roastiness and bitterness. I haven’t had one in over a year so I can’t compare it to fresh. But it is very, very good if lacking only in complexity.

Lagunitas Imperial Stout

Never had this fresh. Not great. A bit sour. Not very roasty. Low perceived alcohol. Awkward aftertaste. Bitter but without the roastiness to go with it. Slightly thin mouthfeel but only very slightly so. Cheap but unlikely to get again.

Widmer Brothers Galaxy Hopped Barleywine Ale

Widmer Brothers Galaxy Hopped Barleywine Ale

Never had this before so can’t compare it to fresh. Bitter. Mouthfeel is bit then. Not as rich or complex as I would want. Not bad. Just not great. Allegedly brewed/bottled 2011.04 so it has sat for a while.

Tastes about what it did when fresh. Thin body. Not that rich flavor. I wouldn’t call this an Imperial.

Alltech Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout

Alltech Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout

Still thin and not that good. I think it tastes about the same as it did a year ago.
